Jordan Brand is working on a new collaboration with Union LA on an Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG SP GH "Varsity Red" during Spring 2025.
UPDATE 02/24/2025: UNION LA has confirmed the release date for February 27, 2025. For now, the release is scheduled on the Union LA x Air Jordan website. Nike has not yet announced details about the release date on the Nike SNKRS app.
UPDATE 11/02/2025: According to zSneakerHeadz (via X, formerly Twitter) the release has been postponed. Although the model was initially scheduled to launch on February 12, 2025, the pair is now releasing on February 28, 2025. See below for the list of stores where you can find the model in stock at the time of release.
UPDATE 10/02/2025: Union LA released official images today of the new Union x Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG SP GH "Varsity Red". The release date has not been announced yet. However, according to multiple industry sources, the pair is scheduled to launch during February, most likely on February 12 or February 14, 2025.
Alongside the Air Jordan 3 Retro SP GH “Diffused Blue”, Nike has added a new Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG SP GH collaboration to its release calendar for Spring 2025. In general, the brand uses the term SP for “Special Projects”. Special Projects are most often collaborations with international boutiques or artists. The pair also carries the “GH” abbreviation, but no one managed to figure out what it meant until August 2024. According to several sources, the pair is a Union LA collaboration. The collaboration has not yet been confirmed for the Air Jordan 3 model.
The “Varsity Red” pair brings back memories of the first Union x Air Jordan collaboration, when they released two AJ1s in the “Storm Blue” and “Black Toe” colorways. The upper uses the “Chicago” color scheme, with a “Shadow Grey” detail around the ankle area. The sole is artificially yellowed, giving the shoe a vintage look. The model will release in a unisex size run from US 3.5 to US 18. The product will be priced at 200 dollars. The attached images are a mock-up – the color scheme on the final release may differ.
When is the Union LA x Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG SP GH Varsity Red Chicago Shadow releasing?
The Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG SP GH "Varsity Red" is releasing during Spring 2025 on Nike.com and at select Air Jordan Retro partner stores. At the moment, Nike has not yet confirmed an exact release date. However, we can expect the pair to start arriving in stores beginning in January 2025. We expect the release to take place in February 2025. One possible release date is February 12, 2025. Check out the mock-up below while we wait for more details.
