A new Air Jordan 1 High 85 in the original "Metallic Burgundy" colorway is scheduled to release during Spring 2024.
As one of the original colorways in which the Air Jordan 1 was released in 1985, this color scheme was never reissued until this year. According to Kenneth Myers Jr, the 1985 version is the inspiration behind the A Ma Maniere x Air Jordan 1. Featuring a clean look with a premium white leather upper together with a metallic burgundy swoosh and accents, this pair comes in the “85” version, with thicker leather and a shape that stays true to the 1985 form. The model comes with a sticker on the inside that represents the sample tag from the original pair. The model also comes in a box similar to current Jordan 1 boxes.
To begin with, the leather on the “85” version is much higher quality than on the “High” version. However, because it is higher quality, it is also stiffer and harder to the touch. In general, the leather on a sneaker does not need to be soft, and this factor should not be used to determine material quality.
Besides the materials used, the shape of the “High” version is different from how the model looked in 1985. The shape of the “85” version is much closer to the shape the model had when it was first released. Also, the Swoosh is oversized, and the toe box area is closer to a current Dunk than to an Air Jordan 1.
