
Alongside the Year Of The Horse re-release, Nike is also launching a special edition ponyhair covered Kobe 8 during Spring 2026.
Although it is too early to discuss an official release date, we already have information about a new Nike Kobe release from 2026. According to multiple industry sources, Nike Basketball is releasing another "Year Of The Horse" Kobe 8 during Spring 2026.
This new model comes with product code IO8152-001 and a "Black / Metallic Gold / University Red" color scheme. The entire upper is draped with pony hair, with suede being used around the heel area. Metallic gold accents help add a bit of color to the design, while the horseshoe charm design on the tongue completes the look. Currently Nike has not confirmed rumours about the upcoming release. However, with official images now being loaded, we can expect this limited edition pair to drop soon.
When is Nike Kobe 8 Protro “Year of the Horse” releasing?
The Nike Kobe 8 Protro "Year of the Horse" is releasing during Spring 2026 on Nike.com and at select Nike Basketball partner retailers. The brand has not yet announced the exact release date. However, we already know that the model is part of the Nike Spring 2026 seasonal catalog, so we expect it to release sometime between January and March.
