The Nike Air More Uptempo ’96 “Animal Instinct” returns in Summer 2027, five years after its original 2022 release, bringing the animal print patterned design back to Nike’s seasonal product line-up.
According to multiple internal documents, Nike is re-releasing the "Animal Instinct" color scheme during Summer 2027. This edition will be releasing with the same style code used on the 2022 version.
The pair comes with style code DZ4838-100, an official "Summit White / University Red / Black / White" colorway, a $170 retail price, and is currently expected to release during Summer 2027. A white perforated upper sets a clean base for a deliberately varied mix of animal-inspired panels. The “AIR” oversized side lettering is covered in dark green-and-black scale-like texture, while the quarter overlays alternate between warm leopard print, patterned surfaces, and zebra stripes. Black tongues, laces, collars, and trim sharpen the contrast, with white oval lace ornaments adding a distinctive hardware-like detail. Red embroidered Swooshes appear on the toe boxes, and larger red Jewel Swooshes sit across the patterned heels. smaller red branding also appears on the tongue labels and circular side badges. Beneath the upper, the white segmented midsole exposes broad translucent red cushioning windows, while the outsole combines round forefoot grip pods, diagonal ribbed grooves, a black central Swoosh, and a red Nike Swoosh embedded in the heel section.

Nike Air More Uptempo '96 "Animal Instinct" is releasing during Summer 2027 on Nike.com and at select retailers. The official release date has not been announced yet.
