Despite currently celebrating its 33rd anniversary, the Air Jordan 4 is having a bit of a “moment,” consistently appearing in new official colorways and experimental customizations by both artists and sneaker collectors.
The Air Jordan 4 is a classic basketball shoe that was first released in 1989. Designed by Tinker Hatfield, it was the first shoe to feature the “Flight” logo on the tongue, as well as the famous “Nike Air” logo on the heel. The model is considered to be one of the most iconic and popular Air Jordan models of all time.
Recently, the second design for the Air Jordan line by Tinker Hatfield surfaced in official images. The color combination is white, navy, and light grey. An obvious twist on the model’s original “White Cement” look, the upcoming pair covers TPU eyelets, Jumpman logos at the heel and midsole tooling in a semi-dark blue tone that feels familiar, yet refreshing. The Jordan 4 “Light Smoke Grey” takes inspiration from the original 1989 model. It features the same components and pays homage to the classic design. Lastly, the next proposition from Michael Jordan’s eponymous brand features a “Fire Red” Jumpman logo on the outsole, further playing with heritage-driven hues on an updated design.
