Welcome Skateboards finally have the opportunity to collaborate with Nike SB on a Blazer Mid model, releasing on January 11, 2024.
The Madrid skate shop initially announced its collaboration through a rather mysterious video. The short clip shows one of Welcomeās team skaters riding his board on the way to a restaurant, greeting several people along the way. When he arrives at the tapas restaurant, he greets the rest of the crew and each of them takes a piece from the plate, at which point we can see that the plate has the Nike SB logo on it. The video ends abruptly, displaying a logo that reads āCasa Welcome Nike SBā.
The Nike SB Zoom Blazer Mid comes in shades of white, beige, burgundy, and gold. The upper is made of predominantly beige leather, with additional burgundy leather detailing. The Nike SB logo on the tongue is gold, just like the logo on the heel. The midsole is white, while the outsole is purple. On the outsole there is also a fairly large white Nike Swoosh logo. The interior features a āhoundstoothā pattern, matching one of the three pairs of laces.
The details on this pair were chosen to remind us of Madrid. Instead of the Nike SB logo, the heel features an embroidery that reads āCasa Welcome Madrid. The pre-distressed white leather on the toe box is perforated with 7 stars, one of the symbols of the city. On the tongue, on the inside of the shoe, there is text with the year the shop was founded, their name together with the message āALL WELCOME HEREā. Last but not least, on the insoles there are portraits of the whole team and drawings of several types of tapas, as well as the text āCasa Welcome Nike SBā.
