For over four decades, the Nike Pegasus has served runners around the world with its beloved reliability. The Nike Pegasus 41 delivers the soft, responsive ride the Pegasus franchise is known for while further advancing its innovative technology and features.
Much of the praise for the Pegasus line is due to the unmatched combination of Air Zoom units and Nike’s proprietary foams. The new feature on this year’s model is a full-length Nike ReactX foam midsole, which delivers over 13 percent more energy return compared to the Nike React foam used on the Pegasus 40. The introduction of ReactX foam unlocks a more responsive feel and helps reduce Nike’s carbon footprint. Compared to React foam, ReactX is engineered to reduce the carbon footprint of producing a pair of midsoles by at least 43 percent, thanks to lower energy use in the manufacturing process. To complete the plush cushioning system, the Pegasus 41 features Air Zoom units in both the forefoot and the heel.
The Pegasus line is also known for its reliable ride. During extensive research, Nike designers listened to everyday runners and focused on making the upper of the Pegasus 41 more comfortable. The upper is made from an engineered mesh that is now lighter, more breathable, and more comfortable than previous models. The shoe’s Dynamic Midfoot Fit system connects the laces directly to an internal midfoot band that wraps the entire foot for complete support. Both a signal of Nike’s super-cycle of innovation and proof of the power of its Air technology, the Pegasus 41 embodies the company’s ability to listen to and serve athletes.
The uniqueness of the Pegasus line lies in its family of silhouettes, each one designed for a specific running need, skill level, or type of terrain. For example, the Pegasus EasyOn model is designed for athletes of all abilities, featuring a collapsible heel and a lace toggle system that allow athletes to easily slip the shoes on and off. Other silhouettes include the Nike Pegasus Trail 5, Nike Pegasus Trail Gore-Tex® and Nike Pegasus Winter Gore-Tex®.
