The late Peter Moore changed the sneaker industry when he designed the Nike Dunk High in 1985, and over the last several decades the model has become part of the cultural zeitgeist.
Recently, the basketball-inspired silhouette appeared in an eye-catching combination that blends bold “Gym Red” with vibrant “Yellow Ochre” for a look that will turn heads any time of the year. While the aforementioned shades follow an already established scheme on the smooth leather upper of the Nike Dunk (with “White” on the base layer), they are undoubtedly overshadowed by the chenille material used for the lateral Swooshes. This design choice is hardly surprising, considering the sneaker’s heritage as a staple in college basketball. The “fuzzy” material evokes the feel of letterman jackets. Finally, Moore’s new Air Jordan 1–inspired design is completed with “Gum Medium Brown” outsoles for a fan-favorite finishing touch.
