Nike and Sabrina Ionescu are proud to present the Sabrina 2 signature collection. It includes a new shoe and a selection of lifestyle apparel designed to serve everyone who loves the game of basketball. Honoring their shared commitment to growing the game and supporting the next generation of basketball players, Nike and Sabrina Ionescu are introducing the new Nike Sabrina 2 basketball shoe.
The collection was built on the success of the first Sabrina Ionescu footwear and apparel line. The product range is enriched with personal design cues inspired by Sabrina’s name and background, and the shoe along with select apparel pieces will be available for the first time in kids’ sizes.
The basketball shoe is built for players who want to accelerate quickly. To achieve this, Nike’s design teams worked closely with Sabrina to combine the best features of the Nike Sabrina 1 with fresh upgrades that create a shoe that is 28 grams lighter and does not sacrifice support, stability or comfort.
The Sabrina 2 offers stability through its Cushlon 3.0 foam midsole, marking the first time this technology has been used on a Nike basketball shoe. A Nike Zoom Air unit in the forefoot helps provide energy return and responsiveness, while an updated strap system wraps around the midfoot to deliver a glove-like fit that helps keep the foot secure. On the rubber outsole, a Swoosh with the letter “i” over it is featured, with the sole providing multi-directional traction.
The shoe’s design is highlighted by an “S” frame that wraps around the upper. This is complemented by intricate stitching and embroidered patterns that reference Sabrina’s initials and number. On the medial side of the shoe, a vertically tilted Swoosh cuts through the stitching, resembling the shattered glass of the ceilings Sabrina continues to break. Underfoot, an exposed Swoosh and an “i” allude both to Sabrina’s last name and to the exclamation point she puts on her game.
When is the Nike Sabrina 2 second signature sneaker releasing?
The Sabrina 2 collection will be available globally on June 28, 2024. Certain colorways will feature a mirrored Nike Swoosh logo, a statement from Sabrina encouraging the next generation to see themselves in this shoe, which will also be available in kids’ sizes for the first time. Additional details about the apparel line will be available soon.
