Nike Air Max 90 “Athletic Department” returns in Summer 2027, four years after its 2023 release, with pink accents across a white and grey design.
According to multiple internal documents, Nike is re-releasing the "Athletic Department" color scheme during Summer 2027. This edition will be releasing with the same style code used on the 2023 version.
The pair comes with style code FN7489-100 and an official "White / Sail / Medium Soft Pink / Summit White" colorway, and is expected to release in women's sizing. The upper pairs white woven mesh with smooth white overlays and soft grey textured panels sweeping along the sidewalls and heels. Light pink ribbed eyestays interrupt the lacing, while matching heel tabs add a molded, ridged finish. White Swooshes sit cleanly against the layered upper, and the side cutouts reveal pink inserts stamped with Air Max. From the rear, the heel tabs bring the strongest branding moment, with raised Nike, Swoosh, and Air details set into the pink panels. Pink tongue labels and pink insoles with white Nike marks extend the accent color upward. Underneath, a sail-colored midsole keeps the palette soft around the forefoot and heel, while pink ribbed cassettes frame the transparent Air windows. The outsole finishes the design with a split black-and-pink layout, square rubber lugs under the forefoot, grooved pink sections through the waist, and ridged black traction at the heel.
