The Nike Sportswear team is launching a limited edition Air Max 1 ’86 OG "Museum Masterpiece" on March 9, 2024, paying tribute to the 40-year-old model.
This limited edition turns the Air Max 1 silhouette into a canvas straight out of a museum, paying tribute to four decades of Air Max 1 history. The upper comes in a light shade, featuring a texture that recalls a painting. Although the upper does not include any details specific to this concept, the most important elements are showcased on the insole. On the left insole you’ll find text about Tinker Hatfield, the creator of the model, and about the material composition, as well as about the shoe in its 1986 version. In contrast, the right insole features the text “PLEASE DO NOT STEP ON THE ART”, which is rather ironic considering it appears on the insole. The shoe also comes with the special packaging found on all pairs of Air Max 1 ’86 OG.
