For 2022, Nike is making yet another attempt at the Air Force 1 React, completely redesigning the whole shoe for the new year. And though distinct from its predecessor, this model features a build more reminiscent of the original. Its colorway here only adds additional layers of familiarity, as it’s not far off from the standard “Triple White.”
As such, most of the construction is finished in said neutral. The toe with its shifted panels; the eye stays — laces, tongue, and all; and the forward half of the midsole are all nothing new. But the heel and the fixtures that surround it proffer a sudden shift, its construction more contemporary, slightly opaque, and visually separate as a result of the “Coconut Milk” tint. In material, too, the pair leans closer to the “React” name, its synthetic not unlike what was used on the React Element 87.
