Bruce Kilgore’s Nike Air Force 1 Low has done a lot since debuting in the 1980s (’83 to be exact). As the original design continues to celebrate its 40th anniversary, the low-top trim of the made-for-basketball silhouette has surfaced in a series of refreshing, compelling styles.
Recently, the New York City staple has appeared in a white, blue and red colorway. While it has yet to be confirmed as part of a specific collection, a recent Air More Uptempo has also been dressed in this July 4th-friendly ensemble. The majority of the upper, just like on the original Air Force 1, comes in a clean “colorless” setup, while the profile Swooshes and other supporting accents stand out in bold fashion (blue and red, in this case). As with the aforementioned Nike Basketball classic, the latest take on Kilgore’s creation features a non-standard basketball logo on the heel. Underfoot, the sole units boast a slightly yellowed finish that delivers a “vintage” aesthetic, calling back to the sneaker’s debut era.
