A new Adidas Originals collaboration with Hartcopy on the BW Army silhouette has been revealed, set to launch in early 2024.
Hartcopy started out as an Instagram page with the slogan “cataloguing culture”. Combining photography with copywriting, Timothy Suen and Sam Le Roy managed to turn it into a platform with over 250,000 followers. After images surfaced on the founders’ accounts, they are now set to release their first collaboration. They had the opportunity to work together with Adidas Originals on the BW Army silhouette, a shoe that inspired the famous Maison Margiela Replica sneaker. Using the original "White/Grey" color scheme together with a brown sole, they add small red zig-zag embroidered details. The inspiration behind the red zig-zag stripe comes from the way words are underlined on a computer when there is a mistake, a detail that also appears in the Hartcopy logo.
Although the release date has not been announced yet, we expect the Adidas x Hartcopy BW Army to launch during early 2024. See the official images below as we wait for more details regarding the official release.
The Adidas BW Army model was inspired by a shoe made for the German army (German Army Trainer or GAT). The original model was designed by Adi Dassler and Rudolf Dassler before their falling out. After they split, both of them produced similar models, so it is difficult to determine who made the shoe first. Adidas last released this model during 2017 – 2018. Currently, this model is produced by many high fashion brands, including Maison Margiela.
