Six months after launching their first hoodie, Sneaker Market Romania is presenting its first clothing collection in collaboration with PRETTY DOOMED, an artist from Cluj-Napoca. The collection consists of two T-shirts (white and black), a hoodie (black) and a mask (black). Below are a few photos of the products and an interview with Șerdean Ionuț aka PRETTY DOOMED.
The collection is launching on May 30, 2020 exclusively at the Sneaker Industry store on Str. Horea Nr. 2, Cluj Napoca. Afterwards, the products will also be available online for members of the Sneaker Market Romania community, but there is no set release date.
Let’s start with introductions. Tell us your name and where you’re from.
My name is Șerdean Ionuț and I am from Cluj-Napoca.
What do you do and where do you get your inspiration from?
My occupation is connected to art. Over time I’ve developed an interest in painting, drawing, photography, and graphic design, and for the past few years I’ve identified as a tattoo artist. I have a passion for everything related to the creative field. The most recent idea that intrigues me is creating a brand that can offer several things I want to produce and on which I want to leave my mark. I’m inspired by what surrounds me every day, by friends, and by the activities that come up throughout the day.
Can you tell us a bit about your brand?
I’ve produced a few pieces of clothing under the name “PRETTY DOOMED”, but I’m planning to step things up and offer more products. I made two hoodies and a long sleeve that sold out in a pretty short time. For now, they can only be purchased from my Instagram page.
When did your passion for sneakers and streetwear begin?
I’ve had a passion for sneakers ever since I first got into skateboarding, around the age of 14. As for streetwear, my passion has deepened over time and it’s also what pushed me the most to create a brand.
What are your favorite brands?
The brand that has caught my attention over the years is Stussy, but a few other mentions would be Carhartt, Aime Leon Dore, certain products from Supreme, Nike, The North Face, Polar Skate Co., and many others.
Among those brands, who would you like to collaborate with?
I think there are several brands I’d be very happy to collaborate with, but the first one that comes to mind is Nike.
How did you end up joining the Sneaker Market group and how did you find the experience of working with us?
I found out about this group when I wanted to sell my first pair of sneakers. A friend told me there was a group dedicated to selling sneakers and streetwear – that’s how I discovered the first community in Romania dedicated to this culture. The collaboration was really cool in many ways (communication, ideas, support), and it’s a team I’d be happy to work with again in the future.
What do you think about sneaker and streetwear culture in Romania?
Even if it’s not as developed as in other countries, I want it to keep growing more and more. I think it would help if there were less hate and more support for those who are involved in this culture.
I have various artists I like in different areas of art. Tattoo artists (Alex Badea, Horvath Mate, Useless Tattoo, Chan Daryl), painters and muralists (Sevan and Ian Szekely, Matei Tigareanu, Andrei Sclifos, Radu Pandele, Saddo, Lost Optics, Kero) were the first ones who came to mind, of course there are others who deserve appreciation and were not mentioned above.
For any kind of information or proposals, I can be contacted via e-mail, Instagram or Behance.
Thanks, see you in Cluj! If you want to give someone a shout-out…
I want to give a shout-out to my skater boys from CNKRUE and Rotric Skate Mag, Sneaker Market Romania for all the help and for making this collab possible, Sneaker Industry for keeping us fresh with clothes, sneakers and all that, the bandits who put art on the walls, they know who they are, and last but not least, big up to everyone who supports what we do and pushes the movement forward. Respect and KEEP YOUR PASSION ALIVE! Luv you my peeps 🖤
