Nike SB is releasing a limited edition Dunk Low Pro with the nickname "City of Love" during February 2024 to celebrate Valentine’s Day.
Nike’s design team releases special anniversary models every year for holidays such as Chinese New Year or Valentine’s Day. This year, Nike SB is bringing us a Dunk Low inspired by a myth from East Asian culture. The story says there is an invisible thread tied around the fingers of soulmates, which will eventually bring the two people together. Nike SB always aims to create limited editions with a story behind them, and this pair is the perfect example. While the upper is painted in neutral tones, the red thread is used for all the shoe’s details. First, the stitching along the midsole uses red thread. On top of that, the woven tongue label showcases the red thread as it wraps around the Swoosh logo. Finally, the insole features a graphic that confirms the inspiration drawn from Asian culture.
The model uses suede for the grey panels on the upper, while the white panels are made from satin, just like the inner lining. The lateral Swoosh logo has been doubled and oversized, a practice seen on Air Jordan 1 models. Both the midsole and outsole are white, featuring a multicolor speckle effect. However, the outsole also includes a red area: the background of the Nike SB logo. To complete the story, the shoe also comes with a set of red laces.
Even though the best Nike SB Valentine’s Day release is still considered the collaboration with Strangelove Skateboards, we are sure that the Nike SB Dunk Low Pro "City of Love" pair will also be appreciated by Nike SB collectors.
