Nike and Ja Morant are launching the Nike Ja 1 NRG "NY vs. NY" during the Summer of 2024 to celebrate the famous tournament in New York City.
Even though Spring is just getting started, Nike is already working on the Summer 2024 calendar. Every Summer, the “NY vs. NY” streetball tournament brings together the best amateur basketball players from the five main boroughs of New York City in a showdown designed to highlight young talent. Fortunately for us, that also means a special collection prepared by Nike Basketball. Now, more than a year after the launch of Morant’s signature basketball shoe, this is the first model announced to celebrate the 2024 edition. Shades of navy, pink and light blue dominate this sneaker, with the connection between the player and the Memphis Grizzlies clearly visible through the color palette. Ja’s personal style is once again highlighted. Instead of his usual signature, we can see it replaced by the name of the tournament, NY vs. NY, while the player’s logo remains on the tongue label.
