Jordan Brand is re-releasing the iconic Air Jordan 6 Retro "Black Infrared" during Spring 2026, one of the original colorways from 1991.
UPDATE 25/03/2025: According to zSneakerHeadz and Sneaker Files, the Air Jordan 6 Retro "Black Infrared" pair will be inspired by the 2000 sample and will carry the nickname āReverse Infraredā. The midsole uses more red and less black. Besides this minor difference, the model also comes with a red embroidered Nike Air logo on the heel area. It is also possible that the model will use the "Light Crimson" color instead of "Infrared". For now, the information has not been confirmed by Nike.
Although it is far too early to talk about an official release date, we already have information about a new Air Jordan release from 2026. According to multiple industry sources and internal documents, Nike is going to release the Air Jordan 6 Retro "Black Infrared" again during 2026. The release information was published exclusively by Sneaker Market in collaboration with Brandon1an.
When is the Air Jordan 6 Retro āBlack Infraredā releasing?
The pair comes with product code CT8529-001 in the "Black / Infrared" color scheme, indicating that this is the original 1991 colorway. At the moment we do not know if the pair will receive the "Reimagined" treatment, as was the case for the Air Jordan 4 "Bred". We expect the model to release in a full family size run. Nike has not yet confirmed the release rumors. In general, the brand avoids confirming rumors about upcoming limited-edition releases in the near future.
The Air Jordan 6 Retro "Black Infrared" is releasing during Spring 2026 on Nike.com and at select Air Jordan Retro partner retailers. For now, the brand has not yet confirmed an exact release date. However, we already know that the model is part of the Nike Spring 2026 seasonal catalog. As a result, we expect the pair to release sometime between January and March 2026. See a mock-up below while we wait for more release details.
In other news, the Trophy Room x Air Jordan 6 is releasing in 2025. Michael Jordanās sonās store has the opportunity this year to launch two different color schemes of the AJ6. It is possible that the two colorways are inspired by the colors worn by his father during his career with the Chicago Bulls.
