Likely to be one of the biggest films of the Summer, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is finally landing in theaters early this June. And in anticipation of the premiere, Jordan Brand is once again linking up with Marvel during this period to craft an Air Jordan 1 directly inspired by Miles Morales’ journey into the multiverse.
Evolving the design of its predecessor — which was essentially a Kirby Dot-covered take on the “Chicago” colorway — the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse x Air Jordan 1 seems to draw inspiration from the multiverse itself. The shoe looks as if it has been hurled through a rift in space and time, with almost every part of its construction appearing fragmented. While there is a hint of familiarity, that quickly disappears as the paneling shifts from leather to suede and back again, then is distressed and treated to create a patina-like effect. In addition, the Swoosh features a subtle iridescent finish, while the eyestays and ankle flaps offer a graphic look that appears to be ripped straight from the pages of a comic book.
When is the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Next Chapter Spiderverse” releasing?
Enjoy an official look at the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse x Air Jordan 1 ahead. The shoes are expected to hit Nike SNKRS on May 20th, predating the film’s premiere by a little less than a couple of weeks.
In unrelated news, the Jarritos x Nike SB Dunk Low releases on May 10th.
